White Water River Rafting In Rishikesh

We arrived Rishikesh via Volvo in the wee hours of the morning and soon reached the Lifemission Camp in Shivpuri early morning. We were greeted to complimentary breakfast and well-maintained tents. After freshening up and having breakfast, we left for the location of our raft. On our way, we donned our life jackets and helmets. Once we were reached, we were given instructions which were to be followed strictly. It all sounded very thrilling and scary at the same time. We had opted for the 16km ride with 9 rapids which would take about 3 hours. We were paired up with another group of four and a supervisor.

The supervisor started it slowly. We started putting all our energy into rowing the oar. Soon, we were navigating rapids like Roller Coaster, Golf Course, Double Trouble and Hilton, which got our adrenaline pumping. The entire activity was very exhausting because we had to coordinate and row the oar with the currents. We also participated in body surfing and cliff jumping. Cliff jumping is thrilling and totally safe, even for those who do not know swimming.

After that, the journey got easier as the rapids got easier to handle. The 16 kms soon came to an end and we made our way back to the camp. We spent the rest of the day at the camp, had our meals and rested. We relaxed on the river bank during dinner, enjoyed the weather and the sound of the currents. The next morning we packed up early morning and left the camp to begin our journey to Mussoorie with an exhilarating experience to look back on.
